About Me.

My name is Liz Macro

(Macro like big, not Marco like Polo). 

   

• I am originally from Des Moines, Iowa, home of Slipknot and Cloris Leachman.

• I attended Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, where I received a degree in history and graphic design on the multimedia and photojournalism track with a minor in dance (try saying that three times fast).

• I specialize in nonfiction filmmaking, where my work is all about telling interesting stories in interesting ways.  

• My work also utilizes photography and graphic design to tell and contextualize visual narratives. 

• I have worked across the United States making short-form documentaries about:

  • National parks in Washington, DC 

  • Historic preservation and contemporary art in rural Alabama

  • Nonprofit work at the Mexico-U.S. border

  • Three Nepalese teenagers who migrated as refugees to Omaha, Nebraska
